Rod's Tuesday Take N Things

The weather has been good for baseball. I drive by Hyde Stadium several times a day and see the guys, usually Teener players, out there scrimmaging and working. I also notice alot of parents sitting in the stands. Must not be alot going on. When my boys were playing a few years back, there were a couple of dad's usually watching but not like I have seen the last couple of weeks. Good to see the enthusiasm.

Governor tennis team split a pair of matches yesterday winning 9-0 over Brandon Valley and losing 6-3 to Sioux Falls Washington. Nathan Ellenbecker and Hans Leong went unbeaten on the day. They won both of their singles matches and both of their doubles matches. They are the number 3 doubles team.

And have not addressed the fact that Pierre now has a head volleyball coach. Kacy Kienholz was hired last week by the school board. As far as I know, all of the head coaching positions are filled for next year. That could change since the year isn't over yet though. As far as coach Kienholz is concerned, she is back actually after one year. She quit last year after taking the Lady Govs to 3 straight State AA tournaments and two consecutive trips to the State Championship match where if you will remember, Pierre finished 2nd. She replaces Kylie Mundt who officially resigned after learning that her contract would not be renewed after just 1 year on the job.
