Pierre sophomore Kaitlin Severyn is the only member of the Lady Gov volleyball team to earn All ESD honors by a vote of the coaches of the ESD Volleyball teams. Severyn led the Lady Govs offensivly this year in kills. Severyn is also the youngest player on the team as she is the only sophmore voted on the squad by coaches.

The South Dakota State University women's swimming and diving team defeated Northern Iowa, 189-105, on Saturday afternoon. The Jackrabbits won 12 of the 16 events. Pierre native Morgan McLain was a part of three wins. McLain won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:26.96 and the 400-yard individual medley in 4:36.17. McLain was also part of the winning 400-yard medley relay in a time of 4:36.17.

Ashley Eide scored a career-high 27 points and Pierre native Steph Paluch matched a career high with 13 to help lead the South Dakota State University women's basketball team to an 84-73 victory over Utah State in a foul-filled contest Sunday afternoon at Frost Arena. Eide's 27 points came on 11-of-16 shooting from the field. She also paced the Jackrabbits' 38-28 advantage in rebounds with a team-high eight boards. Another Pierre native and Jackrabbit starter, Katie Lingle added 11 points and seven rebounds. Eide's mother is the former Audra Lindbloom of Pierre.
