Rod's Football thoughts

Finally, an ESD team back into the 11AA championship. Congrats to Aberdeen Central. And Sully Buttes found out that Hanson is no Harding County. Lyman's west river schedule was no match for for Emery-Ethan (I lost a freindly wager for entertainment purposes only on that one and the last time I listen to my esteemed colleagues on sure bets) and west river 9B football, even though Gettysburg is technically east river, just doesn't matchup with east river teams for whatever reason. Winner and St. Thomas More are the only west river teams that can come remotely close to beating our east river foes. And they are playing next week for a championship. And the ref's in the Husker-Oklahoma game must be getting paid by how many penalty flags they can throw. I don't know. Perhaps we could ask Stu Whitney what can be done to make the playoffs more even for both sides of the river? That is if Stu knows there is a river that runs through us.

  1. I guess sometimes one just has to wonder just how esteemed one's colleagues are. With the cast of characters we have, 'esteemed' could mean revered and respected, or on the other hand, it mean just mean that's how we like our lobster prepared. :o)

  2. Or it MIGHT just mean that...

I will say one thing about the Sully Buttes-Hanson game Saturday night. Hanson did get off to a rousing start, but the last 3 quarters were very well-played, and quite evenly matched, I thought. Sully definitely has a world of possibilities to look forward to as they look toward next year - great run this season!!
