The Pierre Governor boys basketball team joined the Lady Governors in continuing their season last night. The Governors rode a 34 point performance from Lane Severyn and a 16 point (14 in the second half) from Joe Tetzlaff in a 77-53 win over Aberdeen Central in the 3rd place elimination game of the District 3AA boys basketball tournament. The Governors led 32-29 at the half but outscored the Golden Eagles 24-12 in the third quarter to pull away for their 15th win of the season. The Governors will host Rapid City Stevens in a Region 2AA Playoff game Tuesday night at Riggs High Gym. The winner advances to the State AA basketball tournament in Rapid City that begins March 15th.
The Pierre Lady Govs will travel to Rapid City to face Rapid City Central in a Region 2AA Girls Basketball Playoff game. Tip off is scheduled for 7 pme central time and 6:00 pm mountain time.
