Darren Boyle's weekly words of wisdom.... MNF in the "man cave"

Keyshon Johnson as a ESPN analyst saying that Brett Farve should conform and just run the plays as they are called????My son Jared says C'MON MAN!!!! My sons and I witnessed a quite lethargic first half performance by the Vikings as they dug a 16-0 hole. We saw a team without alot of life and they were manhandled on both sides of the ball. We got to see alot of the stretch play to the right from the Vikings that didnt result in alot of rushing yards and only 26 yards passing. As the Vikings got the ball in the second half they moved the ball quickly and got a TD. What happened next??? The Bears had a big kickoff return and scored 5 plays later. On the next drive the Vikes were moving the ball well and had the ball inside the 5 yard line when Mr "offensive genius" changed the personel to the goalline package. Much to the displeasure of a certain quarterback wearing the road white. I have been in the workforce for quite a long time and worked for alot of individuals I didnt see eye to eye with. And I have worked for some who were completely over their heads, but still were the ones who felt they had to make the big decisions even if they were wrong..So I can truly feel for Brett.. Farve's legacy is being judged not by 17 years in Green Bay and a super bowl win, but by what happens this season. Anything less than a trip to the Super Bowl will be considered a failure. If you were in that situation wouldnt you want to be a part of the decision making process? Especially if you didnt have alot of faith in your management. You can see that Brett Farve isnt 100% in love with the play calling. 6:00 left in the game, and the ESPN guys in the booth are talking about how Farve is changing plays at the line of scrimmage, somehow, magically they seem to be moving the ball down field. Huh, a play is called and when the qb sees the defense, he changes the play so it works. Who would be so bold? A short run by AP and the game is tied @ 23. Maybe home field isnt out of the question. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! A directional kick and the Bears still run it back to the 25 then a quick TD by the Bears. In less than a minute it is 30-23 Bears. A first half snoozefest is becoming a trackmeet in the fourth quarter. Now at the two minute warning the Vikes are inside the Bear 35. Inside the 10 now with ;30 left. throw to Harvin in the endzone too high and incomplete. Now its fourth down, heres the ball game. To Sidney Rice.....TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!30-30 Bears have the ball with 9 seconds and timeouts left and what do they do??? THEY TAKE A KNEE????? That is showing faith in your QB right Mr. Fisher? Bears win the toss and on the first play of OT get a long pass play inside the Viking 40. Now here comes Robbie Gould to win it...................NO GOOD!!!!!!And the Vikings have another chance. The Bears have no choice but to blitz. Nice job by the Minnesots Matadors eh? Pressure and an incompletion on first down, then Farve is sacked on second and third down. And the Bears have the ball back. They go three and out. Here comes the Vikes... And AP fumbles???????? AGAIN????????Bears with the ball. Cutler to the endzone.............TOUCHDOWN BEARS and the game is over 36-30. Why doesnt it suprise me that the much maligned Jay Cutler, has his best game of the year against the Vikings? In a game that mattered to the Purple and not to Chicago. The Bears win and the road to the Super Bowl will go through New Orleans. Yes, it is true the Vikings played great in the second half, but obviously they were not ready to play in the first half and the blame can only be put on the shoulders of the true Viking Season Killer Brad Childress. Remember about a month ago he got a contract extension? When, in his tenure they have NEVER been in a conference championship game let alone a Super Bowl. Now with his fat contract he is in a position to blame his QB if they lose. That is the ONLY reason Childress begged Farve to come out of retirement. You read it here first folks, remember that boss you had or have that was over his head??? When you think about it, they will remind you of Brad Childress. Dont forget our doubleheader tomorrow as Miller travels to Todd Co. 5:00 tipoff see you then

  1. Did I miss something? I'm waiting for a HUUUUUUGE "I told you so"! What I'm reading is someone who sometime in the past 6 weeks drank the "purple kool-aid". Favre isn't the only problem with the Vikings....but he IS definately one of them.
