The White squad won the opener 17-2 where Pierre pitcher Alex Norwick threw a 3 inning no-hitter. Post 320 came back in the nightcap though winning 7-4 in 9 innings. The Pierre White has a record of 6-6 on the season.

The Pierre Green and White 15-16 Teener baseball teams host the Kris Stephans Memorial baseball tournament tomorrow and Sunday at Hyde Stadium. Mitchell, Groton and the Rapid City Post 320 Shooting Stars join the two Pierre teams in the tournament that is the major home tournament of the year for the Teeners. There will be 5 games played both days beginning at 11 am tomorrow and 10 am on Sunday. The Pierre Geen and White Teams will each play 2 games per day in the tournament. The Pierre 13-14 Teener teams travels to Sioux Falls tomorrow to play a doubleheader at the Harmonden Complex.

The Pierre Rattlers amatuer baseball team returns to the field this week. After beating 4 Corners last Sunday, the Rattlers take their 3-4 record to Sioux Falls on Sunday for a doubleheader against the Sioux Falls Saints. Two of Pierre's 3 victories this season have been over Sioux Falls two weekends ago. The games will be played at the Harmonden Complex with the first pitch of game one on Sunday scheduled for 1 pm.

Miller Speedway has cancelled its races tonight due to wet conditions. Four of its five race nights have been cancelled this season due to rain. Last season, the speedway had to cancel nine of 17 races. Racing at Miller Speedway will resume next Friday, July 1st.

And as you might have guessed, the rains from earlier this week put an end to golf at the Dunes Golf Course in Ft. Pierre as the parts of the course and the parking lot as well as the clubhouse got flooded. So Dunes Golf officials and the city of Ft. Pierre have been working on pumping the water and getting the course ready to go. Right now, Cullen Deis, the owner of the Dunes, isn't sure when he will get the back nine open for play again. Hopefully it won't rain anymore this week and next week and they can get the course up and going again by maybe next weekend.

Speaking of closed golf courses, there is a meeting of folks at 5:15 pm at the Hillsview Golf Course Clubhouse between city officials and those that live on Fairway Drive for a proposed Fairway Addition Levee.
