Two South Dakota Golf Association State Tournaments scheduled at Dakota Dunes and Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre have been moved to different courses due to flooding conditions in the two locations. The Women's State Match Play tournament scheduled for Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre scheduled for July 8th through the 11th has been moved to Brandon and the State Men's Match Play tournament scheduled for Dakota Dunes July 6th through the 10th has been moved to the Moccasin Creek Country Club in Aberdeen. SDGA Executive Director Wade Merry says that flood waters are expected to remain on the Hillsview Course in Pierre for most of the summer. He says the decision to move the men's tournament from Dakota Dunes was made on May 31st.

The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team came home with two losses Tuesday night to Rapid City Post 22, but they also came home with some additonal cash that will go to flood relief in the Pierre-Ft. Pierre Area. Post 8 head coach Bob Sullivan says that Rapid City Post 22 donated over $1300 to the Pierre area by passing a hat at the games as well as the Post 22 Legion home also donating cash. Sullivan says that the team planned to take the cash to Bankwest to deposit it in the Oahe Flood Relief Fund that was set up.
