The Class 11AA rankings
I am dissapointed to say the least, but not surprised with the South Dakota Sportswriters latest Class 11AA ratings. But cmon guys and maybe a gal or two, Pierre gets no consideration whatsoever? It's no big deal to the coaching staff. As a matter of fact, they are probably happy with the fact that they are still under the radar. But it just irks me. You beat the preseason ESD pick "of the ESD Coaches no less" on their home field. No you don't beat them, you embaress them. They were rated 5th last week. That should at least earn the title of "Getting some votes but not enough to crack the top 5". It's almost as bad as the power point rankings. Oh by the way, we better keep winning. Douglas won last Friday. Beat Custer 38-14.

You shouldnt be too suprised Mr. Fisher, have you talked to anyone west of Mitchell who is involved in the polling process? This has happened befor. perhaps coach Kramer can use it as a motivating factor
ReplyDeleteThe Argus Leader gets one vote in the sports writers poll, the same number as the Capital Journal. If you are complaining about the Govs not getting any support in the poll, you don't need to look so far.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is a very good point. The Capital Journal gets one vote. Watertown gets one also. Pierre got none. So are we to be led to believe that perhaps the win was not as impressive as first beleived?

I say it is just good bulletin board material, polls this time of year dont matter much anyway
ReplyDeleteI think the underlying theme here is that ESD coaches misfired on their predictions. :)
