Darren Boyle's weekly words of wisdom

There will be alot of district tournament championships decided Thursday night. Miller takes on Crow Creek for the district 12A title, Miller won when they played a couple of weeks ago but the Lady Chieftains seem to have found their scoring stride over the last few games. The Rustlers have one of the taller lineups in the area and if they get good guard play like they have lately, they are going to be tough to beat.

Mobridge and Cheyenne Eagle Butte will hook up in the district 11A championship game. Two very good teams... this one will come down to the end with the winner getting the nod as the early favorite for the Region 6A title. This game will be broadcast on Star99 FM and www.dakotaradiogroup.com.

In Onida Thursday night Gettysburg and Highmore Harrold will meet for the District 5B championship. The Pirates ended the reign of the Sully Buttes Chargers as champions of their district, and ends a string of consectutive state tournament appearances that started in 2004. Gettysburg used some good defense and excellent free throw shooting to defeat Faulkton. This is going to be a fun contest, will the upstart Lady Battlers start a cinderella run to the regions or is Highmore Harrold ready for the big time? I will be in Onida for the call 7:00 tipoff on KGFX and www.dakotaradiogroup.com

There are several other district title games going on around the area Thursday night. Go see a game, looks like the weather is going to cooperate for a change.
