Thought I would try something new today. Blog from the game site. The Governors are in Aberdeen taking on the Golden Eagles in the spacious Golden Eagle Arena. The JV game is going on. I counted. 6 people here in the stands as fans at the tip off. We are probably closer to 30 now early in the second half. Kerry Wenbourne is officiating of course. He alwasy does when we play here. Kerry is a Riggs High alumnus and former Governor standout athlete "back in the day" But then weren't we all. I have a courtside seat as they put the radio guys at the scorers table. I am next to the Governor bench so you will hear plenty tonight and perhaps get a true feeling of how the game is at court level.
The Govs will have their hands full as this Aberdeen Central team is a very good and very quick team much like Pierre faced last weekend. The key as I interviewed coach Becker is getting back on defense. If they get up around or more than the 70's you will know the guys did not do it. And this will be another big test for our freshman post guy Zach Hanson. Got a feeling that he will get to know his Golden Eagle counterparts real up close and personal by the time this one is over. If Travis Adney and Scott Cichos can provide some scoring punch like they did against Washington on Saturday, and Taylor Becker hit a few from the outside, the Govs will have a chance. And they get to play these guys twice in a week. The Golden Eagles are in to Riggs High Gym next Tuesday night.
By the way, if you think we have snow in Pierre. We got nothin, compared to what they have here.
Go Govs.............
