The Pierre Green 15-16 Teener baseball team downed Sioux Falls East 6-1 Friday evening in the State VFW 15-16 Teener State Baseball tournament in Brookings Friday night. Willie Welch went the distance allowing 1 run on 4 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 3. Austin Wagner, Cash Anderson and Kyle Sarringer each had 2 hits out of Pierre's total of 9 on the game. Ryan Goodwin had 3 RBI's in the contest. Pierre is 2 and 1 in the State Tournament. Pierre Green will play Brandon Valley, a team they beat 13-10 Friday in the opening round of the tournament, Tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm in another elimination game in the tournament. The Winner will play the loser of the Sioux Falls West and Watertown game which will be played at 12 noon. That game will be at 6 pm. Brandon Valley eliminated the Pierre White 15-16 Teenere baseball team earlier in the day.
