The Pierre Lady Governor tennis team scored 93 points and finished 8th in the 12 team Rapid City Invititational tennis tournament that wrapped up yesterday. Abby Burke and Emily Dix finished 4th in the number 4 and 5 singles spots to place for the Lady Govs while Eileen Leong and Kate Wollman finished 6th in number 1 doubles for the Lady Govs top finishes on the tournament. Sioux Falls O'Gorman won the team title.

The Pierre Lady Governor Volleyball team bounced back from their season opening loss Friday night to Yankton by defeating Douglas yesterday. The Lady Govs won a 4 game match by scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-14, 25-19. The Lady Govs are 1 and 1 to start the season as they travel to Aberdeen to face Aberdeen Central Tuesday night.

Yankton pulled away in the second quarter to build a 37-8 halftime lead and went on to cruise to a 43-20 win over the Pierre Governors in the season opening and ESD Conference opener for both teams last night in Yankton. Connor Fitzsimmon led Yankton scored 5 touchdowns on the night. He rushed for four and caught a pass for a TD. Austin Wagner scored on runs of 65 and 10 yards for the Governors who have their home opener next Friday against Aberdeen Central.
