Rod's Thursday Take n Things

It is interesting to take a look at ESPN's bracketology, a term they invented, to figure out where the South Dakota State women's basketball team will play in the NCAA tournament. The latest that I saw, was at 7 p.m. Eastern time last night and had SDSU opening up against Notre Dame with the region game being played at South Bend on Sunday March 21. They would be a part of the Minneapolis Region and Notre Dame would be a 2 seed and SDSU a 15. Unbeaten Nebraska would be a 1 seed in that Region. Oral Roberts, who lost two less games than SDSU and beat them twice according to the ESPN bracketology dude is out of the tournament. It no doubt will change several times before the selection show is announced next Monday night on ESPN. If your a Pierre Governor and Lady Governor sports fan, be sure to tune into the Governors Sports Roundtable program at 4:05 p.m. on KGFX. Season ending interviews with coaches K and Becker (who by the way had his Mizzou Tigers lose to my Huskers yesterday in a big upset in the Big 12 men's tournament) and those always fun season ending interviews for the girls and boys basketball teams. Also will talk girls and boys varsity hockey. They talked about the season of course but also what they are looking for in the upcoming off season and looking ahead to next year. I mentioned a couple of things in my blog yesterday. And I wish Highmore-Harrold well at the girls State B tournament. I interview head coach Mike Ring every week and yesterday gave him an upgrade. Called him Mike Rounds. Of course Rounds is Governor Rounds although at this stage, Coach Ring is probably more popular in Highmore than Governor Rounds. I think the Governor saw the humor in my blunder.
