The Pierre Governor football team was beaten 17-12 last night by the Huron Tigers at Huron. Adam Zwanziger scored on 1-yard run and Michael Johnson caught a 25-yard touchdown pass to give the Tigers their first win of the season. Zack Cranston added a 34-yard field goal and 18 tackles for Huron. For Pierre Jared Neilan rushed for 147 yards and touchdown runs of one and 36 yards as the Governors fall to 1 and 2 on the season. Pierre travels to Brookings next week. The Bobcats downed Brandon Valley 42-28 last night. Mitchell beat Aberdeen Central 32-13 and Watertown lost to Yankton 48-18.

The Pierre Governor golf team fired a 341 team score to leave them in 13th place in the 18 team Yankton Invitational yesterday at the Hillcrest Country Club. Sioux Falls Lincoln fired a 304 team score to win the tournament. The Governors did not have a single golfer finish in the top 10 individually. Willie Welch fired an 81 for Pierre's best score on the day. Hans Leong had an 85. Mark Costello a 86. Cash Anderson and Joe Bech each had 89's. Drew Leif came in with a 92. The Governors are competing in the Brookings Invitational today.

The Pierre Lady Governor volleyball team is hosting Brookings today at Riggs High Gym with the varsity match scheduled for a 6 pm start time and will be broadcast on River 92.7 FM. The Lady Governor Tennis team is in Huron today in a quadrangular as they take on Brookings, Watertown and Huron.
