The Pierre Governors were beaten by Mitchell 61-6 in their homecoming game last night. Mitchell led 34-6 at the half. Mitchell had 496 yards of total offense to the Governors 204. Pierre's lone touchdown came in the final 90 seconds of the first half when Alex Gray hit Joe Snyder on a 7 yard touchdown pass. Pierre travels to Sioux Falls Washington for their next game on Friday.

The Pierre Lady Governor tennis team lost 3 matches yesterday in the opening round of the Pierre Invitational tennis tournament. The Lady Govs were shutout 9-0 by Rapid City Stevens and were beaten 8-1 by St. Thomas More. Aubrey Wald won the only match at the number 6 singles spot. Pierre was also beaten by Brandon Valley 5-4. Eileen Leong won at number 1 singles in that match as did Kristin Inman at number 4 singles and Karlie Warne at number 5 singles. Leong and Kate Wallman won at number 1 doubles and Wald and Emily Dix won at number 3 doubles. The 2 day tournament wraps up today at the Griffin Park Courts.
