Pierre wins a thriller in 5 games at Douglass. Wins game 5 19-17!
Lady Gov Tennis
Pierre scored 94 points to finish 7th at the Rapid City Invitational tennis tournament that finished on Saturday. Sioux Falls O’Gorman won it with 300 points. Rapid City Stevens was second. Molly Burke finished 4th in number 3 singles. Alexi Gusso took consolation championship at number 4 singles. Eileen Long was 4th at number 5 singles and Diede Beck lost in the championship match to finish 2nd in number 6 singles. Beck and Gusso were 6th at number 2 doubles for the Lady Gov place winners. Friday’s dual with St. Thomas More was won by St. Thomas More 7-2. Diede Beck won at number 6 singles and Kayle Inman and Molly Burke won at number 3 doubles for Pierre’s only wins.
Gov Football
Governor football team had a 14-7 halftime lead but could not hold it as Sioux Falls Lincoln scored twice in the third quarter and added the clinching touchdown with about 3 ½ minutes left in beating Pierre 27-20. Saturday night in Sioux Falls. Governors scored with just over 6 minutes to go to make it 21-20 but missed the extra point. Graham Schuetzle rushed for 101 yards and scored two touchdowns. Tyrell Walker scored on a 13 yard touchdown run. Tanner Schaffer added 78 yards rushing
