Here is some limited info on the first day of the West River boys golf tournament that Pierre is playing in.

SPEARFISH, S.D. - Pierre and Watertown tied for the first-day lead in the two-day West River Invitational boys golf tournament with team scores of 330 strokes apiece. Watertown’s Josh Weismantel shot a tournament-best 76 to take a two-shot lead over Pierre’s Miles Schock and Aberdeen Central’s Austin Hieb, who each shot rounds of 78. Hieb’s Golden Eagles were all alone in third place at 333 strokes, two shots ahead of Rapid City Stevens Blue at 335. Yesterday’s first round was played at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club. The final 18 holes will be played today at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rapid City. Sturgis, Rapid City Central and Spearfish are also golfing in the tournament.
