Darren Boyle's weekly words of wisdom "tasting the purple kool-aid"

Ok, since my last post we have seen two victories from the Vikings, the emotional lovefest on Monday night when they defeated the Packers, and last Sundays scrimmage with the Rams. I have to admit, VSK looks better than I thought he would when their opponent puts eight in the box to stop the run. The offensive line has begun to protect their quarterback, and the defense continues to force turnovers. AP hasnt had a 100 yard rushing game since week one but still leads the league in carries. What was he doing on the field in the fourth quarter last Sunday? It is the little things like that that makes me question the coaching skills of the so called offensive "genius" Brad Childress, and I have no choice but to continue to question how far the Viking will go this season. The eastern SD media has finally began to notice that there is some quality football being played in the central part of the state. And as we move toward the end of the season, the power points are starting to take shape and it looks to me that at least in class 9AA and 11B, a trip to the Dakotadome will make a detour west, as Lyman and Winner look to have home field locked up. There are alot of teams in the central part of the state that are looking good as far as being at home in the first couple rounds of the playoffs. In the next week or so, we will see things come into view and the adventures of VSK will be put on the back burner as we talk of the football playoffs. Until then we have other things to ponder, like since the Packers are struggling, and the Red Sox have been eliminated from the baseball playoffs, do Packer fans and Red Sox fans hang out in sports bars together and complain? Will the whole steriod issue in baseball finally die down now that Red Sox players have been implicated? If the Yankees win the World Series is it good for baseball? If if it the Yankees vs. the Dodgers and Joe Torre would that be exciting enough to put up with the team of Joe Buck and Tim McCarver? Will the weather clear up so I can finish harvest? We can only answer these questions together, I hope to hear from you
