Rod's Thursday thoughts

We here at Dakota Radio Group are glad to announce that 1060 KGFX-AM will be a station on the South Dakota State Jackrabbit women's basketball network. While we will not have every game on the air we will bring you 15 regular season games that we will add to our schedule along with our coverage of Lady Governor basketball and Stanley County high school basketball through the season. Freshman Steph Paluch and Katie Lingle are with the SDSU squad this year. That, teamed with the fact that SDSU women's basketball is coming off a NCAA tournament appearance and is the pick to win the Summit League again this year should be a good reason for excitement this year for the SDSU gals. And SDSU alumnus around this neck of the woods have always supported their beloved Jacks. The first game is Friday November 13 hosting Gonzaga. Other games that we will have will be Nov. 19 at Illinois State. Nov. 22 against Western Kentucky. Dec. 7 at IUPUI. Dec. 13 against Middle Tennessee State. Dec. 19 at Utah. Dec. 28 against Northern Iowa. Jan. 16 at North Dakota State. IPFW on Jan. 25. Feb. 1 at Centenary. Southern Utah on Feb. 8. Feb. 15 against South Dakota. Feb. 20 at IPFW. Feb. 22 at Oakland (only game they lost last season in the Summit League) and Mar. 1 against Western Illinois. We will also have all SDSU post season games from the Summit League tournament, and NCAA or WNIT if they play in it. Pierre guy Tyler Merriam is the play by play voice for the Jacks. I talked with katie L. for a couple of minutes last Saturday. They had had their first practice and she said it went well and she was excited for the coming season. We are too, Katie.
