Rod's Monday Thoughts
From the weekend, I think that Vikings fans had better also use the line "It is always better to be lucky than good" when they boast about the 6-0 start. I also always thought that the second coming was named Brett Favre. But after last night listening to Al and Chris on Sunday Night Football I could have sworn that the second coming is named Matt Ryan. Again, I hate it when the Bears play on Sunday night. You are confinced to having to listen to those two yahoo's unless you want to watch the game with the sound down. No sound. That is not football. In college football, reality hit on Saturday. When it comes to the national stage, Nebraska is still a pre-tender and not a con-tender. Went to the Dakota Marker game on Saturday. SDSU won. It was ok but was nothing like the game two years ago, but then NDSU was good 2 years ago. They aren't this year. And remember, Craig Bohl (NDSU's head coach) was at Nebraska and was there at the beginning of thier downfall from the national stage. Now he is at NDSU and it looks like the talent pool is drying up. Perhaps it is coincidence. While SDSU is pretty good, they could go the rest of the season not winning another game. The tough part of their schedule begins Saturday with Northern Iowa, but it is Hobo Day! Speaking of pretenders and contenders, that is what the Pierre football team can prove on Thursday when they host unbeaten Aberdeen Central. A win and they can be considered a contender for the state title. A loss and it will be pretender. And don't you just love watching baseball with players wearing ear flappers or floppers on their caps. Elmer Fudd must be happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree, Rod. I think the Pierre football team has proven repeatedly this year they are contenders. There are no pretenders on this team, they are for real.
